Fraggle Rock / Die Fraggles

Louise Gold puppeteered (but did not voice): Gobo Fraggle in the Outer space Segments for UK Series 1 (broadcast 7 January to 14 April 1984), and Sprocket for the last few episodes of the German series Outer space Segments (probably broadcast in 1986).

The details for both productions in general (and Ms Gold’s work on them in particular) are somewhat sketchy. If any Fraggle fans out there can help clarify the details on this section, please email the webmaster, thank you.

Although 96 episodes of Fraggle Rock were made (in Canada), and all 96 made into the UK Co-Production. Only 85 were made into the German Co-Production .(It would appear that Louise Gold performed on around the first 15 of the UK Co-Production, and around the last five or less of the German Co-Production).

Louise Gold’s little stint on the last few episodes of Die Fraggles, came about because the French production got into difficulties, and David Barclay, who was puppeteering Sprocket in Germany, had to be dispatched to France to sort it out.

Eberhad Storeck was very much used to dubbing Henson puppet characters. He had also dubbed various characters when The Muppet Show was screened in Germany.

David Barclay, Louise Gold, and, Mike Quinn had previously puppeteered on The Dark Crystal, along with Dave Goelz, and for which Jerry Nelson also did some voice-work, and on which Martin Baker also worked.

David Barclay, Louise Gold, and, Mike Quinn had previously represented The Dark Crystal puppeteers in an item about that film on Blue Peter.

Martin G Baker also worked on John Denver And The Muppets A Christmas Together.

Louise Gold and Mike Quinn, had previously puppeteered, along with Jerry Nelson, and, Dave Goelz, on The Muppets Go To The Movies; They went on to puppeteer on The Secret Life Of Toys; and to take part in Jim Henson’s Memorial Service. Their recording credits include The Muppet Christmas Carol (Soundtrack album), and apparently A Green And Red Christmas.

Louise Gold and Mike Quinn had previously puppeteered, along with Jerry Nelson, and, Dave Goelz on The Great Muppet Caper and they went on to puppeteer on Muppet Treasure Island; on both of  which Martin Baker also worked.

Dave Goelz went on to puppeteer on The Animal Show.

Jerry Nelson had previously appeared in The All Time Get Around Sometimes Play Together Every Other Friday Night Vaudeville Show. His recording credits include Jerome Kern The First 100 Years, Born To Add, The Count’s Countdown, and,  Elmo’s Lowdown Hoedown.
